In October, the Evans City Community lost a great philanthropist when Patti Nelson lost her courageous battle with Cancer. Patti was a life-long Evans City resident and when she wasn’t walking her dogs on the Old Rt. 68 loop, she was giving back. She was a “professional volunteer” – who spent her time giving to many organizations: Evans City Library, EDCO Park, Carnegie Museum, The Caring Quilts of St. Kilian, The Quilters of St. Johns, the Evans City Community Food Cupboard, Highmark Caring Place, and was a founding partner of the Nelson Charitable Foundation.
In her memory, we are holding a 5K and Fun Run on that same loop you could see her on every morning at 7 a.m. to benefit the Patti J. Nelson Foundation.
Please join us in making this inaugural event a success and carry on the legacy of the tremendous human being who is inspiring it.
